Pure India Organic Black Pepper delivers a burst of heat on the tongue, followed by a complex warmth and lingering woody notes. The aroma is sharp and peppery, with subtle hints of citrus and earthiness. It’s an olfactory experience that awakens the senses and prepares you for a flavor explosion.

History:

Black pepper has a rich and ancient history, dating back to at least 2000 BCE. It was once considered a valuable commodity, even earning the nickname “Black Gold.” From its origins in India, pepper traversed trade routes, finding its way to Rome, China, and beyond. It fueled culinary innovations, wars, and even revolutions.
Key Constituents:
The pungency of black pepper comes from a compound called piperine, which also boasts potential health benefits like aiding digestion and fighting inflammation. Other essential oils like limonene and pinene contribute to its unique aroma and flavor profile.
Growing Elevation:
Pure India Organic Black Pepper thrives in the ideal conditions of the Western Ghats, where elevation plays a crucial role. Peppercorns grown at higher altitudes (around 1000 meters) develop a more intense flavor and aroma due to slower growth and cooler temperatures.
